Roof and envelope product data for consultants in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas
We represent IB Roof Systems across Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, and PAC-CLAD by Petersen and Citadel Architectural Products across Texas and Oklahoma.
This page exists because consultants ask us the same questions, and most of the answers sit buried in installer documents or are not published anywhere. Product data, warranty terms in plain language, field identification, and an honest read on where each system belongs.
No form, no gatekeeper. Send the building type, the exposure, and the deck.
How we work with consultants
We are paid by the manufacturers we represent. You are paid by the building owner. Those are different jobs and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
We will not approach your owner around you
If an owner contacts us on a project where you are engaged, we tell them to talk to you. No exceptions, and you can hold us to it.
We will tell you when our product is the wrong call
There is a section below that does exactly that. Losing one project costs us less than losing a consultant relationship.
What we actually provide
Technical data sheets, guide specification language, sample warranties with the exclusions explained, current lead times and stocking position, assembly review before you issue, and field support during installation.
Where each system fits, and where it does not
IB manufactures both PVC and TPO single-ply membrane. They are not interchangeable, and the choice between them is the most consequential decision on a low-slope project.
When PVC is the right call
- Grease and cooking exhaust
- Restaurant, food processing, commissary kitchen. PVC holds up to fatty acid exposure in a way polyolefin chemistry does not. If there is a kitchen exhaust fan on the roof, this is a PVC building.
- Chemical and industrial exposure
- Solvent vapor, process exhaust, certain acids and bases. Get the specific exposure in front of IB technical before you commit either way. The resistance table is compound-specific.
- Buildings that will be modified
- PVC stays weldable. A tie-in cut into a fifteen year old PVC roof will weld to new material. That matters on hospitals, schools, and anything with rooftop equipment replaced on a cycle shorter than the roof.
- High-value interiors
- Where a leak is a seven-figure event rather than a maintenance call, the premium is cheap.
When TPO is the right call
- Large footprints on a budget
- Warehouse, distribution, big-box retail, manufacturing. When the interior is racking and concrete, TPO is the defensible answer and PVC is hard to justify.
- Projects where local sourcing matters
- IB manufactures TPO in Grapevine, Texas. On public work, school district projects, and anything with a local-content preference, that is a real advantage and it shortens freight across all three states.
- Hail-exposed buildings
- IB's TPO line includes 115 mil and 135 mil fleeceback for severe hail and enhanced puncture resistance. In this territory that is not a minor option.
- Reflectivity-driven energy compliance
- Both membranes are CRRC-rated in white. If the project is chasing a specific SRI number, get the per-color values rather than assuming.
When to look elsewhere
We represent three manufacturers. There are buildings where none of them is what we would specify, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.
- Heavy, sustained rooftop foot traffic
- Mechanical penthouses, service corridors. Single-ply takes abuse at traffic points regardless of chemistry. Walkway pads help and they do not solve it.
- Ballasted assemblies
- We do not have a horse in that race. There are better answers than anything we carry.
- Severe ponding with no drainage remedy
- If the structure ponds and the budget will not correct slope or add drains, a new membrane is a countdown, not a repair.
- Below a realistic budget floor
- If your number is below ours we will say so plainly, rather than value-engineer a system down until it is no longer the system you specified.

Identifying an existing membrane in the field
Half of consulting work starts on a roof nobody has records for. The membrane is usually identifiable without a lab, and getting it right determines whether a recover is even possible.
Feel and flexibility
PVC is noticeably more pliable in hand. TPO is stiffer and has more memory. On a warm day the difference is obvious. On a cold morning both stiffen and the test is less reliable.
Surface sheen
PVC tends to hold a slight sheen. TPO reads more matte. Weathering narrows this gap, so treat it as supporting evidence rather than a conclusion.
Where it fails first — the most reliable indicator
PVC loses plasticizer over time, which shows up as shrinkage. Look for tension at perimeters, pulling at corners, and strain around penetrations while the field of the sheet is still flexible.
TPO fails differently: surface crazing and micro-cracking, concentrated where heat is reflected back onto the membrane. Check the base of parapets, the north side of large HVAC units, and anywhere a wall bounces sun onto the deck.
Seam appearance
Both are hot-air welded, so a welded seam does not distinguish them. PVC seams tend to stay intact while the sheet shrinks around them. TPO seam edges are where crazing shows up first.
Scrim pattern
Hold a cut sample to light. The reinforcement pattern and whether the coating thickness above the scrim is even tells you about remaining service life regardless of chemistry.
What not to rely on
Burn and solvent tests give a chlorine signature for PVC, but they are lab procedures with no business being run on an occupied roof. If identification matters for a warranty or compatibility decision, pull a sample and send it out for FTIR.
Why it matters for compatibility
PVC and TPO do not weld to each other. Neither welds to EPDM or mod bit. A recover over a membrane you guessed at is a tear-off you will pay for twice.
Warranty terms in plain language
Three categories, and the names get used loosely in the field.
Material-only
Covers the membrane if the membrane is defective. Does not cover the labor to remove and replace it. Lowest cost, narrowest coverage, and it is what gets quoted when someone says "twenty year warranty" without qualifying it.
Material and labor
Covers both, usually with caps and usually with a declining schedule over the term. Read the schedule, not the headline number.
Total system
Covers the assembly including accessories, flashings, and edge metal, provided every component came from the manufacturer and the installer is certified. The one worth having, and the one with the most conditions attached.
What gets excluded
This is the part that is never on the brochure. The categories below are common across the industry.
categories to expect, pending the actual document
- Ponding water beyond a defined duration
- Damage from rooftop traffic or equipment service
- Alterations and penetrations made without manufacturer approval
- Grease or chemical exposure not disclosed when the warranty was issued
- Wind events above a stated threshold
- Failure to perform or document required maintenance
- Failure to register the warranty inside the registration window
That last one ends more warranties than product failure does. If the registration window closes unmet, there is no coverage regardless of how the roof performs.
We will send you the sample warranty for any system we represent before you write it into a spec. Ask and it goes out the same day.
Metal warranties are two different things
On PAC-CLAD, finish warranty and weathertightness warranty are separate instruments with separate terms. A thirty year finish warranty covers the coating against chalk and fade. It says nothing about whether the roof leaks. Specify which one you need, and confirm the weathertightness term requires a certified installer, because it usually does.
Metal and composite envelope
Secondary to the roofing work above, but part of the same conversation on most projects.
PAC-CLAD by Petersen
texas · oklahoma
Standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofing, wall and soffit panel systems, coping, fascia, gravel stop, column covers, and perforated aluminum.
Where consultants usually need us: confirming weathertightness warranty requirements before issue, panel profile and gauge against span and design pressure, and finish selection against the actual exposure rather than the color chip.
Citadel Architectural Products

ACM and MCM composite panel systems. Envelope 2000 rainscreen, Panel 15, Panel 20, ProCore, and glazing infill. Field-assembled and shop-fabricated.
Where consultants usually need us: NFPA 285 assembly compliance, drainage and pressure equalization in the rainscreen cavity, and attachment behind the panel where the substrate is not what the drawings assumed.
Territory note. IB Roof Systems covers Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. PAC-CLAD and Citadel cover Texas and Oklahoma. We are not going to claim Arkansas coverage on lines we do not carry there.

Build a spec by assembly
IB's technical library lets you filter by product type, installation method, and roof assembly, and returns the matching specification document. That is the workflow you are already in, and it is better than anything we could rebuild here.
Two things worth knowing before you open it. The installation method selector drives the fastening pattern and the wind uplift rating, so pick it against your design pressure rather than against the contractor's preference.
And the assembly selector assumes the deck you tell it, which means a core sample before you spec beats a guess every time.
